Keeping Families Together
AMOR is committed to empowering local churches and serving alongside families in need by facilitating transformational impact trips. These trips enrich the local communities through house building and job creation, providing the additional blessing of transforming the lives of participants by motivating them to commit to a life of creating justice. Every spring, a group of intergenerational workers from FPCSD build a home in Mexico with AMOR. Donations to FPC Missions, directed to AMOR, go into a scholarship fund to help FPC members who need financial assistance for the annual AMOR triP

What is the one comment we have heard the most from trip participants over our 40 years of ministry? That their Amor trip 'wrecked' their lives, but in a good way! Many of you reading this have told us that your trip permanently transformed how you lived your lives going forward once you returned home. So many of you have shared how excited you are to return to Mexico and build again, and we desperately want that to happen as well. But without your immediate donations, Amor may not make it through the year. As a result of the current crisis, we have not been able to receive groups or build any homes for the past month. We still have 164 homes left to build out of the 200 homes we promised to families this Spring. We also had to make the difficult decision to let go 30 of our Mexico team members. Among these were beloved team members in charge of taking care of our camps, working in the Amor Store, and cooking for our groups through La Cocina. We have also reduced our US team in hours as well as hourly compensation.We need your support now more than ever. Your gifts will allow us to have the staff and the resources needed to continue our mission of building homes to keep families together.
