As a local non-profit operating 24 hours a day, 365 days each year, 2-1-1 San Diego is the region’s trusted source for access to community, health, social and disaster services. By simply dialing 2-1-1 the call is free, confidential and available in more than 200 languages. 2-1-1 provides access to 6,000 services, resources and programs through our online database. SERVING SENIORS

The Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center offers breakfast and lunch meals (seven days a week), health clinic, social events, exercise and educational classes, Cyber Cafe with computer assistance.  Take a look at the online monthly calendar for all events and classes.

Also has a list of centers in the county that serve free daily meals to seniors and contact info for home delivery of free meals to homebound seniors.

GRIEF SHARE

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.  This site has resources and a place to find a class meeting at a location near you.

The It’s Up to Us campaign is designed to empower San Diegans to talk openly about mental illness, recognize symptoms, utilize local resources, and seek help.  In a crisis situation, call 888-724-7240 to talk with an experienced counselor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

ELDER CARE DIRECTORY

A comprehensive guide to independent living and long-term care for all of San Diego county and Temecula.  Published by the San Diego Union-Tribune and updated yearly, it is available for free at all libraries. It has a helpful glossary of elder care housing terms.  Covers a wide range of needs from housing, medical, mental health, legal, end of life issues, and more.
