What Happened in June 2017?

Week 1: We heard from our youth and their adventures building a home in Baja with Amor Ministries.

Week 2: David and Lynn Frank, of Wycliffe Bible Translators, shared how God has used them to help translate the Bible into Creole languages in St. Lucia, Guinea-Bissau, and the Gullah people off the SE coast of the U.S.  They also consult in the Kibaku and Kamo languages. Saturday, at the God At Work Gathering, we learned about the work of many of our mission partners, prayed with them, and re-commissioned the missionaries at Jazz Vespers, where Pastor Isaac William of Egypt preached.

Week 3: Sunday, Pastor Isaac William preached at both services.  During Academy of Faith, Battsetseg Baljinnyam of Mongolia Campus Crusade for Christ brought her passion for taking Christ’s message to teachers throughout Mongolia, while Jonathan Yturralde spoke to the youth. Jon works with children of missionaries around the world through CRU’s MK2MK ministry, encouraging MKs to participate in global missions. Tuesday, Pastor Isaac spoke at the monthly adult luncheon, sharing God At Work In Egypt.  He told us about the founding and growth of Tenth of Ramadan Presbyterian Church, where more than 300 people worship and where children go to “Sunday School” on Fridays!

God at Work Gathering,

Saturday, June 17, 1:30-4:30pm, West Room

Don't miss this event, starting at 1:30 in the West Room, ending with Jazz Vespers in the Chapel, from 4:30-6:00pm. This is a great opportunity for you to meet some of our mission partners in a setting where we can visit with them while enjoying international desserts, learn about their work, and pray for and with them.  Pastor Isaac William of Egypt will speak on “Christ in a Muslim World”, followed by breakout sessions with missionaries from around the globe, and a recommissioning of our mission partners at vespers.  See you there!

Worship Services

Sunday, June 18, 8:30 & 11:00am

Rev. Isaac William, 10th of Ramadan Church, Egypt, will share the pulpit with Pastor Jerry Andrews at all worship services. Jonathan Yturralde of MK2MK will also participate in the services, describing his work with children of missionaries across the globe.

Sunday School, All youth (K-12),

Sunday, June 18, 9:45am, Geneva Room

Jonathan Yturralde works with children of missionaries around the world through CRU’s MK2MK ministry. Jon will engage the youth on what young people are doing all over the world to participate in global missions! They will discuss some of the realities Christians face in different countries, and also hear encouraging stories of how MK's are participating in the great commission. We hope to cast a vision of the adventure it is to serve Christ and engage students in living 'in mission' in their home contexts or abroad!
