"Let the man with two tunics share with him who has none, and let him who has food do likewise." --Luke 3:11
Our homeless outreach ministry, the Ladle Fellowship, is an important ministry of First Presbyterian Church. Relationship-based evangelism and discipleship are at the heart of all we do. We aim to proclaim the good news of salvation through Christ; to help homeless believers and others in seeking a biblically-ordered life; and to become more deeply committed disciples ourselves. We desire to bring God glory as we work to build and expand Christ's kingdom.
Each week Ladle offers a hot meal on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. that is enjoyed by 250-300 of San Diego’s urban poor and homeless
- The second Saturday of each month we provide supplemental food bags to seniors and homeless veterans living near the church.
- All the ministries of the church are open to our homeless neighbors
- Every Wednesday we have a designated discipleship class for the homeless
We distribute food bags once a month to low-income seniors and needy veterans. Meet on Date street the second Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. to receive groceries.
Wednesday Discipleship Class
We gather weekly for a practical discipleship class with an emphasis on helping the homeless and others become committed lifelong followers of Jesus Christ through the study of Scripture and its practical application.
More workers are always welcome. A heart for the poor, a hand that helps, a soul that wants to connect, and a love of God qualify you to be a part of the Ladle Fellowship.
