An exciting international musical journey straight through the heart. A selection of the world’s most cherished love stories with a masterful musical style.
Maestro Maxman and his special guests will guide you through 1920’s Charleston, South Carolina in Gershwin’s masterpiece PORGY AND BESS, to the gritty streets of New York City’s Upper West Side in Leonard Bernstein’s ode to star-crossed lovers in WESTSIDE STORY.
Next Stop, the magical Orient as we are swept into the spellbinding legend of THE BUTTERFLY LOVERS VIOLIN CONCERTO of Zhanhao and Gang’s much beloved Chinese fable.
Lastly, we’ll meet two of the most enigmatic and famous leading ladies of music in Puccini’s MADAME BUTTERFLY and Bizet’s CARMEN as our romantic sojourn makes its way around the world.

Learn and work alongside others as we partner with our local missions: Presbyterian Urban Ministries, San Diego Rescue Mission, Downtown Fellowship, and Ladle Fellowship. Meet at FPC at 8:00am for orientation and prayer, then head off to one of the four locations, finishing up at noon. Bring your children! And please, ask your friends and neighbors to join you!
