SUPPORTING OUR MINISTRIES & MISSIONS
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Cor 9:7
The wonderful ministries and missions of the First Presbyterian Church of San Diego are possible thanks to your gifts to our Church. We thank God for the gift of your time and for your financial gifts in support of our discipleship.
We are thankful for all gifts: those that are pledged and given on a regular basis; one-time gifts; special gifts in support of specific ministries like Ladle Fellowship, City Tree, or our FPC Arts Series; your gifts to our capital campaign; and the longer-term planned giving efforts of our congregation. We invite you to join us as a community of faith, and to offer your gift of time and financial assistance to the extent you are able, rejoicing in the gifts that God has provided to us.
Being an active participant in the life of FPC includes financial support to the extent you are able, in gratitude for the gifts given to each of us by God. Members pledge support via our annual appeal, and through planned giving. Our Annual Appeal provides the majority of funds for the church's annual budget and operating needs. We collect pledge cards from the congregation each fall, in time to meet budgeting and planning needs for the next calendar year. Those who are able to pledge specific support for the following year each fall enable our Session to plan for the year knowing that funds will be available to support our needs.
Planned Giving augments annual giving by our congregation, allowing a longer-term impact (in some cases, on a target area) and providing for future generations. Members who are considering a planned gift are also urged to pledge annually through the Annual Appeal.
At times, FPC will ask its congregation to give to a capital campaign that will assist us in dealing with specific needs of the church. We are currently in the midst of a three-year campaign that will allow us to make significant repairs and upgrades to our beautiful 100+ year-old building.
You may support FPC by placing your offering in the collection plates on Sunday morning (envelopes are available in the pews), or by sending in your check to the church office.
FPC also offers optional Electronic Giving (e-giving) via convenient Electronic Funds Transfer or credit card (Visa, Master Card, or Discover). When donating online, please fill out all required fields and choose the specific ministry or cause to direct your funds. You may make a one-time donation or a recurring one (with options as to how often you want to give).
FPC is now using Planning Center for it's church management, and Planning Center Giving for all electronic giving transactions. With PC Giving, not only can you donate as you could before, but you can now track your giving trends and print out your personal giving statements at any time.
We are still supporting Payment Data Systems, Inc. for online giving, and will continue to do so for the remainder of 2018. We hope to be fully transitioned to Planning Center Giving by January 1, 2019. For help transitioning from Payment Data Systems to Planning Center Giving, please contact our Finance Manager Gail Barrett, or call the church office at
