2004 Lenten Study Series – Followers of the Lamb

February 29th-April 3rd

The Lenten season is upon us! Lent is the forty days, not including Sundays, that lead from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. Lent is an appropriate time to renew your commitment to Christ and to move deeper in your relationship with Him. Moving devotionally through the period of Lent is the best way to truly prepare yourself for the joyful celebration of Easter morning.

Once again our Lenten Study Groups will meet throughout the Lenten season, providing an aid to your devotional efforts and a wonderful opportunity for Bible study and Christian fellowship. Most of our existing LIFE Groups will become Lenten Study Groups during this time and we will add a few additional groups that will meet just through the Lenten season. A complete listing of group locations and meeting times can be found either in the Assembly Room printed on the purple brochure or right here on this website.

This year's Lenten sermon series will focus on the picture of Jesus that is painted for us in the Book of Revelation. We will study who He is and the specific call that has been issued to each of us to be followers of the Lamb. The Book of Revelation is complex, to be sure, but we will be well-led by the Spirit, well-taught from the pulpit by our pastor, and group leaders will be thoroughly prepared for their leadership role during the weekly Leader Preparation Classes.

Our Lenten Study Groups will begin meeting the week of February 29th-March 6th in preparation for the first Lenten Study Group meeting which focuses on the sermon material of March 7th. There will be five studies, finishing with the week of March 28th-April 3rd. The Lenten Study Guide also includes two supplemental studies for those who wish to complete them. Study Guides can be picked up at the church office, and can also be viewed and printed from this website.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to seriously reflect on the life you have in Christ. Our prayer is that all who are part of this household of faith will draw near to their Lord and will be thoroughly prepared for the glorious celebration of Easter morning!
