All Around the Word

Class Description

We will be exploring things that have been developed to help us understand the Bible better: illumination, illustrations, colors, fonts, commentaries, etc.

In addition, we will look at other ways the church has communicated the Gospel - through stained glass, icons, artwork, and so on.

We will take a field trip to see some of the pages of the St. John's Bible, the first hand-written, illuminated Bible to be done in 500 years. They will be on exhibit with the Dead Sea Scrolls at the San Diego Natural History Museum..
