He was born here in southern CA, and has grown up, and lived in Orange County, and Santa Clarita (just north of Los Angeles). He felt God calling him to full time ministry about 17 years ago, after he completed a degree in Biological Sciences at UC Irvine. He went to Fuller to obtain a Masters in Divinity. Peter has worked in non-denominational, American Baptist, Episcopal, and United Methodist Churches as a youth pastor, as well as with a mission organization which took him to 26 countries. He is joined by his wife, Bonnie Joseph, who has worked as a clinical social worker at Patton State Hospital–is now currently a licensed social worker at Community Research Foundation here in downtown San Diego, and their 2 year old daughter, Julia Grace. Bonnie also has a passion in working with teens and will be helping out at our large youth gatherings. They are excited about moving to San Diego where they can join family. Lisa Parrish is from SLC, Utah and moved to Pt. Loma with her family in 1977. She passionately and deeply loves our Lord, Jesus Christ, and strives to follow His will and Word daily. She has attended First Pres for 20+ years, which is where she met her husband Bob (who was raised in the church), and have been married since December of 1993. They have two grown daughters, both living out of state, Diana and Amanda who were brought up at First Pres. She is a stay at home housewife/mom with their teenage son, James, i3 who dearly loves, enjoys and is actively involved in the youth group. He attends City Tree Christian School and is in the 8th grade.
She has a loving passion for the poor and needy and continues to serve with Ladle’s Fellowship Ministry, as well been on short term missions to both N.O.
