FPC Women’s One Day Conference
Saturday, February 4th, 9:30a.m.-3 p.m.

We are having a one day conference at FPC. The theme this year is Beyond the Curse—Living as Daughters of the King!  $20 includes speaker, lunch, and workshops.

Women’s Retreat

Tuesday Women’s Bible Study
Tuesday mornings at 9:30am

The JOY of Living Bible study is a non-denominational in-depth study of the word of God open to all women.  A knowledge of the Bible is not necessary to participate.  Women with little Bible background, as well as those with advanced knowledge all discover fresh insights for living as we study together.  The class meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 AM, September through May.  A prepared leader guides the group through a directed discussion of questions from the Bible, giving insights on the passage as we progress.  Preparation for each participant requires 20-30 minutes daily of rewarding personal Bible study in a workbook before coming to the group meeting.  Please contact Cathy Metts at (619) 583-2541 or at cmetts@dslextreme.com to register or for more information.

Thursday Women’s Bible Study

Meets Year Round

The Thursday Women’s Bible Study meets Thursday mornings from 9am to 11am for fellowship, prayer and Bible Study in the Goodwin Annex.  Currently, we are using the LifeGuide Bible Studies “Spiritual Warfare.”  Volunteer leaders are not teachers but are facilitators following the Bible Readings and questions.  The Bible is our authority.

James: Mercy Triumphs - by Beth Moore – James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.
