Women’s Bible Study on James Begins!
Join us on Friday mornings beginning January 20th at 7:45am in the Goodwin Annex for an in depth Bible study on the book of James by Beth Moore. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. FPC Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the Congregation and Corporation of the First Presbyterian Church of San Diego is called by the Session for Sunday, January 29th, 2012, in the Sanctuary, after the 11:00 AM service of worship, for the purpose of presenting the 2011 annual reports, presenting the 2012 budget and approving the Pastor’s 2012 Terms of Call. Attending Congregational meetings and voting is an important privilege and duty of members. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting, but only persons on the active membership roll of FPC may vote. – Marilyn Carnes, Clerk of Session.
Leadership Connection Day
Cultivating Leaders for the Mission of God. This will be a great event and will be held on Saturday, January 28, from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church. Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Dan Chun of the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu. The cost is only $15 per person which includes lunch. Sights & Sounds of Northern Germany
On Friday (please note the day) February 10th at 7:00 PM the FPC Arts series begins the 2012 season with a musical and visual excursion through the churches and countryside of northern Germany, including visits to large churches in Stade, Lubeck, Hamburg, Bremen, and beautiful small churches on the coast of the North Sea. These churches have historic instruments that are a delightful surprise to the ear and eye. Historic and modern music for the organ by Lubeck, Boehm, Buxtehude, Brahms, Telemann, and Gade will be presented by organist Janice Fehér on the 101-rank Casavant Frères organ accompanied with photographs by Béla Fehér. Early-bird preview of additional photos starts at 6:30 PM. Come experience this fascinating journey!
