Jack Keith
Elder Jack Keith died early Monday morning, August 30, 2010. Jack was a man of great faith, a faithful husband for 69 years, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Jack was confident that Jesus, his Redeemer, is alive and that in the end he, Jack, would see Jesus and dwell in the Lord’s house forever. For Jack’s life and faith, we give thanks. A memorial service will be held September 8, 2010 at 1 PM in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church San Diego.
Got a Green Thumb?
You may noticed the improved landscaping on the 4th Avenue side of our campus. We are looking for some faithful servants to help us keep the large pots and new landscaping around the chapel watered until the rainy season. If you are able to assist us in this project, contact Zan Fink for details at billzan@cox.net.
City Tree Band Volunteers
City Tree’s needs a few talented volunteers to help with our 5 and 6 grade beginning Band program. As we begin the new school year, we particularly need people who play the trumpet or clarinet to assist new students as they pick up these instruments for the first time. If you play one of these instruments, and can regularly give some time, M, Tues. and/or Thurs. from 2:15-3:15pm this fall semester please contact Sue Kennedy at sue.kennedy@citytree.org.
City Tree Staff Prayer Time Volunteers
City Tree needs volunteers to supervise students before school from 7:45-8:30am each Wednesday morning. This assistance allows us to gather together as a staff for prayer and devotions. Volunteers need to be able to relate to children and supervise groups playing. We will provide some specific training. A commitment to at least twice a month for the fall semester is needed and willingness to submit to a  background check will be required. Please contact Sue Kennedy sue.kennedy@citytree.org if you wish to minister in this way.
Ladle Fellowship Update

Please give serious consideration to participating in the vigil this year.
How do we find past information about mission trips–specifically Margaret and Dick Ivey’s trips to Mongolia?
Thursday Women’s Bible Study continues on Thursday mornings at 9:00am. Sept. 9 will have a DVD and discussion about our mission in Liberia.
Missions Committee would have that info, Cynthia.
