Student Ministry Update
The High School Magic Mountain trip is full.  Please be praying for us as we travel this weekend. We had a great time serving at Ladle last Sunday. Thanks to everyone who came. Also, if you are not going to Magic Mountain come join our church at the Perkins Elementary service day. We already have a good group of students going. Because I am returning to work earlier than expected.there will not be an overnight trip to Mount Laguna Next week. Let Josh Reyes know if you are interested in going to CityFest on September 11. Lastly, we are looking for volunteers to help serve dinner to the Presbytery on Tuesday September 21st.

Usher and Greeter Ministries
Given that the Church is the Body of Christ, ushers and greeters are quite literally the first “face of Christ” when someone joins us for worship. Since ushers and greeters are the first ones to meet worshippers when they enter the building on Sunday morning, we have a great opportunity (and even responsibility) to create a meaningful worship experience. We are looking for folks to join in this ministry. Contact Melanie Krogman (jkrogman@san.rr.com) or John Bolger (rayjohnb@san.rr.com). You can find out more about this ministry here.

Ladle Fellowship Update
Ladle has been blessed with some excellent groups of volunteers. And lately, those groups have been growing and bringing in new people. Our Saturday Food Distribution was fortunate to have a visiting youth group from Iglesia Presbiteriana Hispana, our neighbors in Golden Hill. What an exceptional group of young adults!! Apparently, we were both impressed with each other – they have expressed a desire to serve at each distribution, and we would love to see them return. And now that the school year is back in swing, we are hopeful that the groups from various high schools who served last year will start attending again. And we can’t forget the Scouts! It’s great to see so many of our young folks actively participating in service to the Lord.

November 20 – Holiday Market at FPC
Saturday, Nov. 20th, First Presbyterian will host a holiday market benefiting local non-profit agencies, FPC women’s ministries and local crafters.  If you are interested in participating as a crafter or volunteer please contact Jean Benthien at jeanb@fpcsd.org.
